The Mid-Shore Young Republicans would like to start by taking the time to thank all of our supporters; the purpose of our newsletter is to keep you informed on what we’ve been doing and events that we have coming up.

We kicked off 2011 by electing new officers to all positions. The Executive Board is as follows:

President: Matt Proud
Vice President: Matt Teffeau
Treasurer: Jennifer Gomez
Secretary: Elizabeth Smith

This year was also the beginning of our expansion to include Dorchester County, a move that was made earlier in the year by the Maryland Young Republicans.

One of our main goals this year is to increase the number of members we have so we can get the younger generation more involved with the local community and politics. We are giving a ten dollar discount on the membership dues if you are currently enrolled in school. If you or anyone you know would like to become a member or receive information on our chapter please contact us.

A Message from the President

As yet another Legislative Session comes to an end, we are reminded of several things. We are reminded of how much of a role partisan politics plays in the Maryland legislature, and how truly fortunate we are to have our many delegates and senators fighting for the Eastern Shore.

And with the most important election in recent history right around the corner, its important to work toward a new Republican Party – one that will out run, out pace and out smart the Obama 2012 campaign, and it all starts with us – the next generation.

We’ve got a lot of things planned for this year – and we aren’t slowing down any time soon. I hope to see all of you at our meetings and in the field, fighting the good fight, to preserve our freedom and all that makes America great.

April Meeting and Legislative Wrap-Up

On Wednesday, April 20, the Talbot County Republican Council and the Mid-Shore Young Republicans will be hosting a legislative wrap at the Easton Fire Hall (315 N. Aurora Park Drive, Easton, MD). Delegates Haddaway-Riccio and Eckardt, as well as Senator Colburn will be giving us the down-low from this year’s legislative session.
